The Writers’ & Artists’ Yearbook, part of Bloomsbury Publishing PLC, has remained the authoritative resource for putting people in touch, writers and artists alike, with the publishing industry for over 100 years.

writersandartists.co.uk was created in 2011 as a natural extension of the Yearbook with the aim of offering a completely free resource to writers and illustrators that contains further guidance and advice on how to make progress with a project and get it published. Our wealth of advice articles on the writing and publishing process has grown ever since, and alongside this, so has our online community. Make sure to create an account and log in to get involved in discussions, receive feedback on your work, ask questions, join or create groups, and make connections with like-minded writers/illustrators. Logging in and interacting with the site in this way also comes with the added benefit of being able to collect Reward Points, which can be used to claim exclusive discounts on books and other W&A products.

Meanwhile, we have also developed a range of editing services for writers. These have been designed to give writers access to the guidance and expertise of industry professionals at crucial moments in the development of their manuscript.

W&A events have also been an area of significant growth. From one-day conferences in London and a number of smaller events held at our Bloomsbury Publishing home, our range of conferences and masterclasses now regularly take us to all corners of the UK and Ireland, with thousands of writers and illustrators benefitting from practical, engaging workshops and presentations and panel discussions given by best-selling authors as well as literary agents, and editors. We have also developed a range of evening writing courses, led by authors and creative writing practitioners.

Please note: if you would like to add your own writing-based event to our website, log in to use our free Writing Calendar feature.

We're always keen to gather your comments and feedback as this genuinely informs the development of our events, editing services, and the website in general. Please do let us know if you are looking for something that isn't there, if you're confused or frustrated by how we are presenting things—or even if you want to tell us about something you like! Your comments should be emailed to us at waybfeedback@bloomsbury.com.
